Our son is the family golf enthusiast and he is lucky as the local area hosts many golf courses of different standards ranging from Saunton Golf Club's championship courses to many "Pitch and Putts" - something to suit every standard.

The 2 Championship Links Courses, 10 - 15 minutes drive from Spreacombe, are breathtaking in beauty but the holes take no prisoners. Listed in Golf World & Golf Monthly magazine's 100 Best Courses in the UK, Saunton is open for visitors.
This club is 15 minutes in the other direction and has the strap line "see the sea from every tee". A friendlly club with pro shop and club house, Ilfracombe is situated on top of the rugged cliffs of the North Devon coast and has an awe-inspiring view over the sea to the Welsh Coast, Lundy Island and as far as the eye can see on the Atlantic horizon.
Portmore has 27 holes consisting, the 9 hole Landkey par 3 course and Barum 18 hole course.
The Dress code for the landkey course is smart casual and more traditional for the Barum course.
There is also a 23 bay golf range, floodlit and fully undercover, using ‘proper golf balls’ with viewing area and seating for the family, a ‘proper’ putting and chipping green, selection of golfing accessories, clubs, shoes and trolley hire facilities, professional lessons, restaurant and bar.
