What will be different at Spreacombe this year?
As the days grow longer and the first signs of spring emerge, I’m delighted share our latest news and local updates for guests at Spreacombe Gardens.
New Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Point
In our ongoing commitment to sustainability and enhancing guest convenience, we are excited to announce the installation of a new EV charging point on our premises. This is all going ahead next week, starting with just one charger positioned near the small pedestrian gateway. This facility ensures that guests with electric vehicles can enjoy seamless charging during their stay, reflecting our dedication to eco-friendly practices.
Begonia Cottage: Now Featuring a Double Bedroom
Listening to the feedback from our guests and seeing the success of the previous Hibiscus upgrade we have just upgraded Begonia cottage to include a second double bedroom instead of the twin beds. This improvement makes Begonia Cottage an even more inviting retreat for couples or small families seeking a peaceful getaway. The single bedroom is still in place so families can spread over the 3 rooms as before.
Moving Outside Spreacombe, Wooalcombe and Rosemoor.
Two new developments for 2025 worthy of mention to those of you that are coming this year
Firstly, the Woolacombe Marine Drive car park, formally rented by the Parish Council has now been taken back into hand by the National Trust. This means, of course, that there will now be free parking for National Trust members. Parking for non members will initially be £8 per day. If you are thinking about joining the National Trust whilst you are here, please consider joining at the Woolacombe Tourist Information which would allow your membership to be spent in the local area.
Secondly Rosemore Gardens are trialling a “Paws on Paths initiative”. From the 17th of March, for six months, they are allowing dog owners into selected areas of the gardens with their pets every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The children’s play areas and eateries will remain dog free but access will be given to formal gardens, streamfield Lakeside operations and Woodlands. There will be availability to purchase snacks from the Shepherd’s Rest, in the Stream Field during during all dog friendly days.
